Earlier this week, I wrote about some things I wish I’d realized as a teenager. But what about as a little kid?

If I could go back in time, this is what I’d tell my childhood self:

1. Your brain is different.
2. It will make some things easier.
3. It will make some things harder.
4. Some people will love it.
5. Some people won’t understand it.
6. There are lots of people like you.
7. You are perfect just as you are.

Here’s my post on what I didn’t realize as a teenager: facebook.com/535025483656310

Both posts were inspired by questions on my “ask me anything” thread: facebook.com/534206893738169

P.S. I write from my personal experience as an autistic. What I share is not a substitute for advice from an autistic medical professional. Also, some of my opinions have changed since I first wrote them.
