I’ve donated What I Mean When I Say I’m Autistic to Bookshare, so thousands of students with disabilities can read it for free!
Bookshare.org is an online library of ebooks, with tools that make them easier to read. It’s designed for disabilities related to reading, but schools that support a variety of disabilities (including autism) often give an account to every student.
My book is a simple but nuanced intro to autism, sprinkled with stories that help autistic kids thrive and non-autistic kids empathize. If your child already uses Bookshare at school, they can read it for their next book report, or anytime for fun.
It’s great for adults, too! I’d especially love for teachers, SLPs, OTs, and other accessible education staff to read it.
Here’s a direct link for anyone with a Bookshare account.
You can also download my free glossary for young readers.
Adults with reading or vision disabilities can join Bookshare for less per year than Kindle Unlimited.
If you don’t qualify for Bookshare, order the book here instead!
